We want your mouse pads and counter mats to do the very best job of representing you and your brand, a responsibility we take very seriously. Yes, two main guidelines are important to bear in mind while creating your design: registration and encroachment. For registration (centering), we don't recommend thin borders near the mat's edge for fabric custom mouse pads and mats because they create a tilt risk. The printing process is manual, and while my team strives for accuracy, minor shifting can occur. Thin elements parallel to the edge can emphasize this shift, making mats appear crooked. The adjustments made by our graphics department should help reduce this concern, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee exact registration. For encroachment, a note about our printing process: we do not utilize white ink. All of our products start out white, and we apply full color. Essentially, elements that are white will not receive any ink. Our print process uses high temperatures to convert the ink to a gas so that it permanently bonds to the fabric material. During this process, dark elements may bleed or encroach into thin white elements (such as text or lines) by approximately 1 pixel width, causing legibility concerns. Graphics will do all they can to address this with pre-press changes to your image, but as such, we do not recommend serif fonts and font sizes below 12pts. For more detailed information, you can view our design guidelines on our art checklist page. We encourage you to review these guidelines thoroughly to ensure the best possible outcome for your branded custom mouse pads and counter mats.
