The surface type of Peel and Place Counter Mats is crucial for both durability and appearance. A plastic laminate surface with a matte finish, as found in products like the 12x18x1/32 and 16x20x1/32, offers scratch resistance and a non-glare finish which is excellent for visibility and longevity. This type of surface is also easy to clean, making it suitable for high-traffic areas. The plastic laminate ensures that the mat remains water-resistant and tear-resistant, enhancing its usability in various environments. These features make the mats ideal for use as register mats, ensuring they can withstand daily wear and tear while maintaining a professional appearance. While we do offer a gloss laminate option, it shows wear more quickly and reflects lighting, so we generally don't recommend it for our Peel and Place Counter Mats.
